COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will equip you with the financial acumen you need to succeed and solve business challenges in any sector. Whatever job you work in, skills and knowledge in areas such as corporate finance, financial markets, and financial accounting will build your credibility and ability to see the big picture of your organization; moreover, it will also introduce you to advanced financing tools and techniques and give you an understanding of financial markets and institutions in a global context.

As a graduate of the program, you will have a deep understanding of how financial and non-financial controls are integrated and used to manage multinational companies from various industries, how large corporations report to external shareholders and stakeholders and how they evaluate companies’ financial and non-financial performance in assessment settings for example.

§  Minimum Degree Requirements

  • To be eligible for the DBA, students have to take and pass six of the taught modules each year, in addition applied research-based doctoral project.
  • There are core and option modules available as part of the course and their credit value.
  • Full-time Postgraduate students’ study 90 credits per year, plus 60 credits for applied research-based doctoral project, usually over two years , and for part-time students’ study 60 credits plus 60 credits for applied research-based doctoral project,   usually over three years.
  • Deep understanding of the tasks performed by CFOs and other similar financial practitioners and the goals they pursue;
  • An ability to describe and interpret the functioning of financial markets;
  • Understand why and how successful companies rely on and benefit from well-functioning financial markets;
  • The skills and knowledge needed to analyze and synthesize complex information from companies and financial markets, and to provide solutions to challenging problems;
  • Ability to research and collect relevant financial information from several sources such as company annual reports and financial databases;
  • The flexible and transferable skills that finance practitioners need in their careers.
  • Deepening financial knowledge and application of skills by analyzing real-world information and addressing questions with practical implications.
