The Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) is a three-year doctoral degree that is designed for working senior-level professionals who desire to achieve a doctoral degree in business while continuing their work responsibilities and careers. The DBA represents the highest level of academic achievement in business education and will prepare you with the advanced knowledge necessary to manage complex organizational environments and solve real-world problems via the conduct of applied research in all areas of business. It is a terminal degree.
Whom is the DBA degree for?
The Doctorate in Business Administration is designed for working senior-level executives who desire to continue their careers while obtaining a doctorate. Our students generally have more than 10 years of significant work experience; seven years of management experience; and a relevant advanced degree, such as an MBA or M.S. Prospective students must exhibit excellent communication skills in the English language and demonstrate high potential for applied research skills. A comprehensive understanding of the functional areas of business, including accounting and finance, marketing, human resource management, corporate and competitive strategy, information systems and operations management, is also expected.

Is an interview required?
If closer consideration is necessary, the Program Director and admission committee may contact the applicant to request an in-person or skype interview (depending on geographic location of the applicant).
What factors are taken into account when an applicant reviews your program?
Many factors are taken into account and each applicant is judged on their merit and accomplishments. Generally, the applicant’s work and management experience, educational background, content of application materials, personal statement, and interview results are used in the selection process.
Is GMAT, GRE, or other standardized entrance exam required for admission?
Generally not. As most of the applicants have already taken the exam to complete the MBA, MSc. Or another graduate program. We do not require a standardized entrance test.

What types of support do students receive from BARVQ?
Students receive academic guidance from individual mentors and course professors. Upon joining the program, an individual mentor is assigned. Following coursework, at the dissertation proposal stage, each student has a direct supervisor and a supervisory committee. Reference librarians at BARVQ are available, if needed. During coursework, professors facilitate online seminars, and provide feedback, guidance, and encouragement.
Each student receives free support from BARVQ Help Desk Analysts who are available weekdays, evenings, and Sundays to assist with any technical problems related to the program.
Upon admission to the program, students are assigned a Student Services Coordinator who handles course registrations and all other administrative matters involved in supporting completion of the DBA program
Is attendance mandatory for all sessions?
Yeah. All scheduled are required. Additionally, enrolment at this level assumes dedication and commitment to all scheduled online sessions and faculty counselling
How often are information sessions conducted?
DBA program information sessions are held several times throughout the year online.
